My favourite American film of 2011, Nicolas Winding Refn’s achingly stylish noir is one of the coolest film in recent memory, features a brilliant Ryan Gosling performance, ably supported by Carey Mulligan, Albert Brooks and Oscar Isaac, among others. With the Internet buzzing thanks to the debut of the new trailer for their follow-up collaboration, Only God Forgives, I gave this another spin and it stands up incredibly well on repeat viewings.
