Edgar Wright directs Glen Powell in this largely faithful adaptation of Stephen King’s early sci-fi effort. A huge departure from the beloved 1987 version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, the results may be well-intentioned, but squander the opportunity to make a scathing statement about society’s unquenchable taste for blood.
