One of those movies that always caught my eye in the video store, but for one reason or another I never got around to actually watching. Michael Nouri plays the L.A. cop forced to partner up with weirdo FBI Agent Kyle Maclachlan to chase done a bizarre foe, with a penchant for Ferraris and bank robberies. The film lets us in on the game early on – their quarry is a nasty bug-like alien that moves from one human host to the next, inhabiting their body and getting them into serious trouble, but only lets our poor hero know the truth piece by piece. While at times it feels caught somewhere between The Thing and Men in Black, this is nonetheless an entertaining sci-fi thriller with some gooey effects and an intriguing central relationship between Nouri and Maclachlan. It also has a killer ending that is reason enough to check this out.
