I have a strange relationship with Alexander Payne’s films. I never look forward to them or feel drawn to them in any way, but upon viewing, I absolutely love them – at least all of those I have seen. Arriving incredibly late in Hong Kong, Nebraska proved well worth the wait. Payne continues to impress & Bruce Dern is superb, in the role that nabbed him the Best Actor prize at Cannes almost a year ago. An honest, heartfelt, witty dissection of family relations. The film Richard Curtis’ About Time could never have been.
